Four Mistakes To Avoid When Hanging An Acrylic Wall Art

Acrylic is a special kind of material that is used to print photographs and other images. One of the reasons why they make such good wall art is because acrylic prints bring out colors very vividly. This ensures that they enhance your home decor. However, many people make some common mistakes when working with acrylic wall art. Here are some common mistakes to avoid if you decide to use acrylic wall art in your office or home

Getting The Frame Wrong

Acrylic wall art is amazing, but the good looks can be ruined by using the wrong frame. The color and material of the frame that you use really matter. This in turn will change depending on the type of wall art, the colors it has and even where you want to place the wall art. If you are not sure about what kind of wall art frame to use, it is best to talk to an expert. Professional photographers and interior designers can guide you on which is the best frame to use for a particular piece of wall art.

 Not Thinking Ahead

When you are planning to put an acrylic wall art in your house, it is a good idea to spend some time considering where it is going. A good example is using acrylic wall art in humid places such as the bathroom or even the laundry room. On the face of it, this is a great idea as acrylic prints are waterproof and so stand up to moisture much better than paintings or photos. The problem in this case is not the art itself, but the frame. Using, say, wooden frames can lead to the acrylic wall art being damaged as the moisture will affect the wooden frame. In such a room, the best thing to use would be metal frames as they hold out against moisture much better than wood.

Not Accounting For Light

Acrylic wall art is shiny by nature and while this is one of the reasons why it is so appealing, it can also ruin the look you are going for. Depending on the colors on the artwork, you may want to avoid placing the wall art in the sunlight or anywhere where light bounces off the surface. This is because when this happens, it may be difficult for anyone to view your wall art, which is such a shame if you have spent money on it. Acrylic wall art should be placed where natural and artificial light complements its look. This means trying out different areas of the house in different lighting conditions in order to get the perfect balance. Don’t be scared of bring in an expert if you think you need help. Even though this might cost you some extra money, the results are usually well worth the expense.

 Not Accounting For Home Decor

If your house has a modern, glassy look to it, it may be better suited to acrylic wall art than if it isn’t. The shiny surfaces of acrylic wall art are great when it comes to modern decor. It doesn’t mean that you can’t use acrylic wall art in homes with more traditional decor, but you need t be a little more careful with the room lighting and placement of the wall art in order to get the best results.
